I am amazed at the difference we can make on the outcome of our day. Even if everything around else is falling apart, our attitude toward the situation and our opinion of ourselves can have a major impact on the outcome.

Okay, RoxStar, you lost me on this one. I’ve seen Florence sing before, and maybe it was on Saturday Night Live (I can’t remember), but I didn’t enjoy all the shakiness in her voice. She is talented and has great lyrics, but wouldn’t say I’m a fan.

Thanks, Roxanne, for the favorable mention. I appreciate your kindness. I am definitely trying to live the second half of my life more courageous than I did the first half. You’re bold and courage, too, so take a moment and pat yourself on the back. I love when women build and uplift each other because so often we waste time tearing each other down.

I love your blog because you’re a good writer and you also expose me to new people, music, books, etc. that I’ve never considered before. And 9 times out of 10 I usually like your suggestions which means our interests are more similar than we know.

Keep up the good work. And as mentioned in your post, I think I’ll pay Debra Smouse’s site a visit since you’re so good at exposing me to new people.

Roxanne, great post! People are always projecting their insecurities or deficiencies on each other, whether it’s done intentionally or unintentially—it happens. We have to learn when NOT to allow other people’s issues to become our issues.

Also, one of my favorite tips for keeping a positive frame of mind, no matter what’s going on around me is to take a deep breath and say to myself, “Everything is as it should be. Nothing happens to you, it happens for you. God is in control of this situation and these circumstances. All I have to do is believe that He is.”
