About

I am a freelance writer and entrepreneur with a love of travel, arts & culture, music, movies, and literature. I have long been entranced by the power of the written and spoken word. My early writing heroines include Judy Blume, Paula Danziger, Louisa May Alcott, Jane Austen, and Erma Bombeck.

I am especially fond of stories about women on a journey of self-discovery. This theme is often reflected in both my fiction and non-fiction writing. I suffer from an interminable case of monkey mind which is why I am usually working on several projects at once. I am privileged to serve as Senior Editor of AllThingsGirl.net and a contributor to several other online and print publications.

A native of The Cleve (refer to my favorite 30 Rock episode for clarification) I lived in Northeast Ohio for 39 years mainly because of the copious amounts of fresh water; the vibrant arts and cultural scene and one of the most amazing symphonies in the world. I moved to The Triangle Area in North Carolina in 2009 along with my handsome husband, GQ Jones (who loves me almost as much as he loves his Aldo shoes) and my hyper-focused adult son (Chef Boy RD).

When I am not writing I am spending time with my family in the great outdoors in beautiful North Carolina or planning my next great girlfriends getaway.

My childhood dream was to become a writer. My adult reality was far different. In retrospect, I now realize that the past twenty years of observations, experiences, joys and disappointments have provided me with the inspiration that will fuel a lifetime of stories. With a newfound perspective discovered on the other side of 40, I am chasing my dreams of being an author of fiction.

Last fall I completed my first novel in more than 20 years (YIKES!). I am currently working to complete my second novel.
